Mosque Concept – Zanzibar

Infinity Design and Architecture envisioned a contemporary mosque in Zanzibar that merges spiritual symbolism with modern architectural clarity. The design emphasizes purity, light, and openness—creating a sacred environment that is both timeless and welcoming.

The exterior features clean white volumes accented by pointed arches and slender vertical lines, recalling traditional Islamic geometry in a minimal, modern expression. A dome and minaret rise subtly from the composition, anchoring the building’s presence within the landscape while maintaining harmony with its surroundings.

Inside, the mosque unfolds into a vast prayer hall defined by natural light filtering through patterned screens. A central circular skylight illuminates the space, casting dynamic shadows that shift throughout the day, reinforcing the spiritual rhythm of prayer. Soft materials and neutral tones provide calmness, while contemporary detailing and integrated lighting elevate the experience into one of serenity and focus.

This concept demonstrates IDA’s ability to translate heritage into modern form—bridging tradition and innovation to create a space of devotion that reflects Zanzibar’s cultural and spiritual identity.
